【摘要】:Thisstandardisapplicabletomains-poweredorbattery-poweredinformationtechnologyequipment,includingelectricalbusinessequipmentandassociatedequipment,witharatedvoltagenotexceeding600VanddesignedtobeinstalledinaccordancewiththeCanadianElectricalCode,PartI,CSAC22.1;CSAC22.2No.0;andtheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70.Thestandardisalsoapplicabletoequipment,unlessotherwiseidentifiedbyamarkingorinstructions,designedtobeinstalledinaccordancewithArticle645oftheNationalElectricalCode,NFPA70,andtheStandardfortheProtectionofElectronicComputerData-ProcessingEquipment,NFPA75.ThisstandardisalsoapplicabletosuchinformationtechnologyequipmentdesignedandintendedtobeconnecteddirectlytoaTelecommunicationNetwork,regardlessofthesourceofpower.ItisalsoapplicabletosuchinformationtechnologyequipmentdesignedtousetheACmainssupplyasatelecommunicationtransmissionmedium.Thisstandardspecifiesrequirementsintendedtoreducerisksoffire,electricshockorinjuryfortheoperatorandlaymanwhomaycomeintocontactwiththeequipmentand,wherespecificallystated,forservicepersonnel.Thisstandardisintendedtoreducesuchriskswithrespecttoinstalledequipment,whetheritconsistsofasystemofinterconnectedunitsorindependentunits,subjecttoinstalling,operatingandmaintainingtheequipmentinthemannerprescribedbythemanufacturer.Examplesofequipmentcoveredinthescopeofthisstandardare:accountingmachines,bookkeepingmachines,calculators,cashregisters,copyingmachines,datacircuitterminatingequipment,datapreparationequipment,dataprocessingequipment,dataterminalequipment,dictationequipment,documentshreddingmachines,duplicators,electricallyoperateddrawingmachines,erasers,facsimileequipment,keytelephonesystems,magnetictapehandlers,mailprocessingmachines,micrographicofficeequipment,modems,monetaryprocessingmachineincludingautomatedteller(cashdispensing)machines,motor-operatedfiles,PABX=s,paperjoggingmachines,papertrimmers,(punchers,cuttingmachines,separators),pencilsharpeners,personalcomputers,photoprintingequipment,plotters,pointofsaleterminalsincludingassociatedelectronicscales,postagemachines,publicinformationterminals,staplers,telephoneansweringmachines,telephonesets,textprocessingequipment,typewriters,andvisualdisplayunits.Thislistisnotintendedtobecomprehensive,andequipmentthatisnotlistedisnotnecessarilyexcludedfromthescope.Equipmentcomplyingwiththerelevantrequirementsinthisstandardisconsideredsuitableforusewithprocesscontrolequipment,automatictestequipment,andsimilarsystemsrequiringinformationprocessingfacilities.However,thisstandarddoesnotincluderequirementsforperformanceorfunctionalcharacteristicsofequipment.Requirementsadditionaltothosespecifiedinthisstandardmaybenecessaryfor:Equipmentintendedforoperationinspecialenvironments,forexample,extremesoftemperature;excessivedust,moistureorvibration;flammablegases;andcorrosiveorexplosiveatmospheres;Electromedicalapplicationswithphysicalconnectionstothepatient;Equipmentintendedtobeusedinvehicles,onboardshipsoraircraft,intropicalcountries,orataltitudesgreaterthan2000m;Equipmentintendedforusewhereingressofwaterispossible;forguidanceonsuchrequirementsandonrelevanttesting.Thisstandarddoesnotapplyto:Supportequipment,suchasairconditioning,firedetectionorfireextinguishingsystems;Powersupplysystems,suchasmotor-generatorsets,batterybackupsystemsandtransformers,whicharenotanintegralpartoftheequipment;Buildinginstallationwiring;Devicesrequiringnoelectricalpower.[seee-mailfor30-daytextchanges]
